Attending an Engineering Student Success (ESS) workshop is a great way to proactively learn, grow, and activate the process of achieving your goals.

  • Facilitated by our staff and graduate assistants.
  • A low-pressure, group learning environment.
  • Most seminars are 50 minutes long.

Upcoming Academic Success Events Engineering your Semester for Success

This workshop is designed for first time students and will cover some of the transitions that students struggle with in their first semester at college, goal setting, time management, and tips from our graduate assistants on how to succeed in and out of the classroom.

How to Succeed in Your Math Class

This workshop is designed for any student taking a math class. This session will be taught by our Peer Math Coaches and focus on how to do homework to have success on your test, how to study for a test, what content you need to know to be successful, and other tips they have found in helping students.

How to Succeed in Your Calculus 2 Class

This workshop is designed for any student taking Calculus 2. How to Take Notes in an Engineering Class

This workshop is designed for students who have never taken an engineering class or have found themselves struggling to take good nots. We will cover note taking strategies that include preparing before class, taking notes in the class, and then finalizing your notes after class.

Peer Math Coaches

Meet our new peer math coaches, both education majors with a second major in math, dedicated to becoming future math teachers. Unlike tutors, they focus on enhancing your learning strategies. They’ll guide you on how to make your homework truly count, connecting it to test preparation. They’ll help you identify key concepts and principles, and develop problem-solving techniques crucial for success in math. Whether you’re struggling with study methods or test anxiety, our coaches are here to support you in mastering the skills needed to excel in your math courses, fostering a deeper understanding and confidence in your abilities.
